Why you should Undertake?
If you know what entrepreneurship means, the question should be “why not undertake?” Many know the advantages and disadvantages of starting their own entrepreneurial journey, but, as a reference, we will mention some advantages and disadvantages of adopting entrepreneurship in your life.
Advantages of Entrepreneurship
- You are your own boss. Nobody tells you how, when and where the work should be done. You decide.
- It is one of the most likely ways to earn a significant amount of money honestly.
- It allows you to manage your time accordingly to your own criteria.
- You can more easily work with what you are good at or what you like the best.
- Life will be an adventure full of challenges and ups and downs.
Disadvantages of Entrepreneurship
- You are your own boss. So nobody is going to make the decisions for you, which is also a big responsibility.
- Making money is likely, but nothing is certain. It can take time too and demand a lot of sacrifices.
- You are solely responsible for using your time wisely.
- What you like may not be so interesting after a long period of work.
- Life will be an adventure full of challenges and ups and downs.
What is the answer, then?
The two hypotheses mentioned above are not alike by chance. The entrepreneur’s life can be seen as a blessing or a curse depending on the perspective that is adopted. So the big question is getting to know yourself and knowing what you really want.
Reflect a little: for you, life is better when you are the one who decides every aspect of your life or when there are people telling you what should be done or not? Do you prefer a lower return with less risk or a higher return of high risk? Would you handle your priorities well? Do you know what you really like and want?
Finally, how do you see life and would you like to live it? Are tranquility and security so important to you that there is no room for insecurity? Some questions are profound and annoying, but they are the most important questions we can ask. Entrepreneurship is not just a career choice, it is a life choice.
There is also no reason to be an extremist. The truth is that we all can and must undertake consciously, minimizing risks and with patience. Not everyone is and wants to be an entrepreneur “by career”, however, most of them need to do it at some point in their lives. And one thing is certain, we all go through ups and downs.
For example, a major investor in the stock exchange may have irrecoverable financial damage after an economic crisis. A qualified and respected executive can see his career go downhill even after years of fervent service for a company. A specialist may be inconsolable when his area of activity is suppressed by the evolution of technology. Do you know any case like that? Thinking that way, is life really that safe?
In the end, Entrepreneurship is a Personal Choice
As a matter of fact, working for others does not seem to be less of a risk than undertaking. The difference? Ultimately, you grew up, gained financial independence, and spent time working for you and your customers, and not to a boss.
See that all of this is a very personal question and whatever the answer is, it will be right. Each one has its own preferences, opinions, and ways of looking at life. But if you realize the wonder of being alive and the possibilities around you, make sure to undertake. Have you ever stopped to think that we came into the world with nothing and that we are going to leave in the same way? Perhaps that is why, for some, the most important thing is to live a life on your own terms, in a way that is worth living and remembering.
